Milan Blanuša was born in Jagodina (Serbia) 1943. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Department of Painting (1967). He completed his postgraduate studies at the State School of Fine Arts in Braunschweig, Germany (1967-1971) and specialised at the State School of Fine Arts in Frankfurt am Main (1978). He is a member os Association of Serbian Artists since 1973.

The artist began to teach in 1976 as Teaching Assistant for painting and drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad, from which he retired as Full Professor in 2011. He was elected Professor Emeritus at the same institution in 2012. He also taught as Full Professor at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade (1992-1998) and the Faculty of Fine Arts at Cetinje (1999-2004). 

Exhibiting since 1968, Blanuša held more than fifty exhibitions of paintings, drawings, graphic prints and sculptures, both locally and abroad (Braunschweig, Cologne, Novi Sad, Beograd, Sombor, Koper, Maribor, Leskovac, Paris, Zemun, Požarevac, Sremska Mitrovica, Zrenjanin, Gornji Milanovac, Vršac, Podgorica...). 

He has received numerous awards, such as the October Salon award for painting (1978), The ULUS Golden Palette (1992), the Politika award (2000), Big Seal of the Association of Graphic Artists (2002), Sava Šumanović award (2005), Award of the City of Belgrade (2017).

Blanuša lives and works in Belgrade and Vršac.
